The 2010 New York Students For Liberty Conference is set to be the premier event for students in the New York area dedicated to liberty! Hosted by the Columbia University Libertarians, this conference will be an opportunity for students to learn more about the philosophy and practical applications of liberty, discuss current issues, and meet other student leaders and organizations at the forefront of the liberty movement. You MUST be here if you’re a pro-liberty student or just curious to learn more!
The conference includes:
- FREE registration!
- Resources for getting involved in the student movement for liberty
- FREE books, pamphlets, stickers, and other liberty materials
- Information on how to connect to internships, programs, seminars, and careers in liberty
- FREE meals and refreshments throughout the day
- A FREE evening social to network with other students in the liberty movement

David Boaz – Keynote Speaker: David Boaz is Executive Vice President of the Cato Institute and has played a key role in the development of the Cato Institute and the libertarian movement. He is a provocative commentator and a leading authority on domestic issues such as education choice, drug legalization, the growth of government, and the rise of libertarianism. Boaz is the former editor of New Guard magazine and was executive director of the Council for a Competitive Economy prior to joining Cato in 1981. He is the author of Libertarianism: A Primer, described by the Los Angeles Times as “a well-researched manifesto of libertarian ideas,” the editor of The Libertarian Reader, and coeditor of the Cato Handbook For Policymakers. His latest book is The Politics of Freedom.
Richard Epstein – Richard Epstein is the inaugural Laurence A. Tisch Professor of Law at NYU Law School. From 2001 to 2010 he was a director of the John M. Olin Program in Law and Economics at the University of Chicago, and he held the James James Parker Hall Distinguished Service Professor of Law at the University of Chicago from 2007-2009. Cited as one of the most influential legal scholars in America, Epstein has written extensively on legal and interdisciplinary subjects, including antitrust, communications, constitutional law, health, labor, jurisprudence, patents, property, Roman law, and torts. Among his many books are Overdose: How Excessive Government Regulation Stifles Pharmaceutical Innovation (2006); How Progressives Rewrote the Constitution (2006); and Supreme Neglect: How to Revive Constitutional Protection for Private Property (2008).
Michael Strong – The Be the Solution tour is a project of Catalyzing Conscious Capitalism, a non-profit organization co-founded by Michael Strong and Whole Foods CEO John Mackey. Michael Strong is a renowned entrepreneur for the cause of liberty – he created several high-performance private and charter schools, including one named the 36th best public school in the US. He is the recent author of Be the Solution: How Entrepreneurs and Conscious Capitalists Can Solve All the World’s Problems.
Bob Bowdon - Bob Bowdon is the director of the new documentary The Cartel, which has received wide praise for documenting the corruption of the New Jersey public school system. He was previously an on-camera reporter for the Onion News Network and an anchor for Bloomberg Television.
